BITSTAMP IS REQUESTING THAT CUSTOMERS AMEND THEIR CRYPTOCURRENCY’S SOURCE, CLAIMING REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AS THE REASON
Users must now disclose information like as country, birthplace, and tax domicile, as well as documentation verifying the origin of cryptocurrency and yearly income, to Bitstamp.
Bitstamp, a major worldwide cryptocurrency exchange, is collecting more data from its customers, such as their source of income, as part of its ongoing compliance efforts.
Bitstamp alerted its customers of ongoing policy updates on the platform in an email notification sent out on Wednesday, with the exchange requesting further information on its customers.
For regulatory considerations, Bitstamp has asked users to amend the provenance of bitcoins they keep on the site.
Salary and pension payslips, inheritance documents, savings, and gift payslips, mining receipts, and other documents were offered by the exchange as official examples of paperwork confirming fiat-related sources of wealth of deposited monies. Deposits and withdrawals in fiat and crypto, login information, work contracts, screenshots, handwritten agreements, and other crypto-related sources are just a few examples.
