A lone miner earned $177,115 while mining a block of bitcoin
On 23 May, a solo miner included block #790,958 in the blockchain of the first cryptocurrency at a hardware capacity of 750 TH. This was announced by CKPool administrator Con Kolivas.
According to BTC.com, the user received a reward of 6.25 BTC and a commission of 0.24 BTC for a total of $177,115 at the exchange rate at the time of writing.
That's already 247 blocks under CKPool. According to Kolivas, on average, this kind of hardware capacity allows a block to be mined once every 9 years, given the current complexity.
