Australian crypto exchange is considering establishing a base in Hong Kong
The Australian Crypto Exchange is considering opening a branch in Hong Kong as the city seeks to establish itself as a major crypto hub. In line with its goal of becoming the next crypto hub in Asia, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission published a proposed licensing scheme for crypto exchanges on February 20. The scheme is scheduled to come into effect in June.
Adrian Przelezny, co-founder and CEO of Independent Reserve, said his company is now seriously considering opening a headquarters in Hong Kong due to the city's friendly licensing policy. He said that they see Hong Kong as a good opportunity for the Independent Reserve and we are always looking for new areas in Asia where we can expand our business.
On the other hand, the SEC has no desire to be a crypto hub😅
