Kraken’s Jesse Powell under federal investigation but exchange remains uninvolved
Kraken's co-founder, Jesse Powell, is currently under federal investigation, but the exchange itself remains uninvolved, according to a statement from Kraken.

Powell is currently engaged in a civil dispute with the Verge Center for the Arts, a non-profit art gallery, regarding his removal from its board of directors. While Kraken is aware of the investigations and search warrants executed, it has clarified that the investigation does not involve the exchange and is unrelated to Powell's former role as CEO. Powell transitioned to a non-executive role as chairman of Kraken's board in April, with Dave Ripley assuming the position of CEO.
