Japan Signals More Web3 Promotion Policies Are To Come
Japan's Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, highlighted the country's annual policy outline that prioritizes user protection while promoting the use of Web3 tokens and supporting the growth of the content industry. He emphasized this during a recorded video broadcast at the WebX conference in Tokyo, demonstrating the Liberal Democratic Party's continued interest in Web3.
Kishida stressed that Web3 represents a new form of capitalism, aligning with his economic policy focused on fostering innovation, startups, and digital transformation to drive growth and wealth distribution. He also teased the announcement of an ambitious large-scale project by a major Japanese company, aimed at creating a valuable economic zone in the metaverse.
The ruling Liberal Democratic Party's policy research council chairman, Koichi Haguida, also shared the party's approach to Web3 before Kishida's speech, encouraging inclusivity for those who may not be familiar with the industry.
