Ethereum Developer Confirms Shapella Upgrade Scheduled for April 12th
Tim Beiko, lead developer of the Ethereum core protocol, led a week-long discussion among members of the Ethereum Foundation, as a result of which the epoch, slot, and time were confirmed. The Shapella upgrade will take place in the epoch of the 194,048 network, the Ethereum Foundation announced in a blog post on Tuesday. An epoch in EthereumEthereum is a set of 32 network blocks, and this epoch is expected to occur on April 12 at 18:27 EST. Ethereum Improvement Proposal EIP-4895 will “push” staked Ethereum from Beacon Chain to the execution layer (also known as the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)), allowing Ethereum validators to withdraw their Ethereum from Beacon Chain.
The upcoming Shapella update for Ethereum is certainly a welcome development for those who have staked ETH. many people can't wait to remove eth from other exchanges 😅
