Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Demo for PC and Consoles Coming This Month
Team Ninja confirms that the upcoming Three Kingdoms-inspired Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be getting a demo this month for both PC and consoles.
The Three Kingdoms-inspired soulslike by Team Ninja, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, will be getting a demo for both consoles and PC platforms later this month. The studio has produced a number of action games like Ninja Gaiden beforehand, with Nioh kickstarting the studio's foray into making action RPGs. Following the success of Nioh, Team Ninja's spiritual successor project was revealed last June, which received plenty of positive feedback and hype. With only about a month left before its release, the developers are giving players another chance to try out the game before its official launch.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty had a demo before, albeit as a limited-time release in September. Players had only 10 days to finish the demo, and it showcased the game's battle system, online multiplayer, and other important features like its character creator. This was only available for PlayStation and Xbox users, but this time it will be available for a variety of platforms, including PC.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty's demo will be available for all platforms that it will release on, and can be downloaded from Steam or the Microsoft Store for the PC release. Players looking to download it can do so on February 24, which is a week before the game's launch. Any progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full game when it's been released. Like the other demo, players who complete the demo will obtain the "Crouching Dragon Helmet" cosmetic DLC.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is one of the most anticipated games of 2023, with many differences that set it apart from Team Ninja's Nioh series. This includes the loot system and mission-based structure, taking a more streamlined and open approach to these mechanics. The world of Wo Long is also more vertical, allowing for greater exploration and unique areas. Many have noted the combat also being much faster, drawing comparisons to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice instead of Nioh.
Koei Tecmo noted that content creators can sign up for a chance to receive a promotional copy of Wo Long, via a Google Sheet that will be sent to Koei Tecmo to evaluate. Another thing that fans can look forward to from Team Ninja is the PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin, an open-world action RPG set in Japan that has the player embodying the role of a ninja. For now, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is looking to be a promising new IP for the developer.
