The release trailer for Diablo IV surprised fans unpleasantly with the music selection
Blizzard Entertainment decided to create excitement ahead of the upcoming release of fantasy RPG action game Diablo IV by releasing a new trailer, but something went wrong. Dubbed the Diablo IV gameplay release trailer by Blizzard, the minute-and-a-half video includes footage from the cinematic cutscenes and the gameplay itself. The video notably features scenes with the mother of the suffering Lilith (the game’s main antagonist) – including a moment from the fight with her – and also calls for an upcoming adventure: “All are welcome in Hell”.
Who the heck won’t be welcome by Diablo IV, judging by the audience’s reaction, is American singer Billie Eilish, whose composition You Should See Me in a Crown was chosen as the background music for the trailer. Due to the controversial choice of music, according to fans in the comments, the new video drew more than 6.5 thousand dislikes (though almost twice as many likes) and many scathing remarks. This isn’t the first time Blizzard has surprised Diablo fans with a selection of music lately : Fan Current beta tests were, for example, the title theme from the film Space Jam.
