Techland: Dying Light 2’s revamped nighttime gameplay will have players “wet their pants for fear”
Dying Light franchise director Tymon Smektala The player shared what users of the open-world zombie action game Dying Light 2 Stay Human can expect from the next major update. Recall that in June, according to the 2023 game development plan presented at the beginning of February, a patch is planned for Dying Light 2 with improvements to parkour and more scary moves “overnight experience” and hikers. According to Smektala, horror has become an important part of the series’ DNA, which is why Techland will not abandon this element in the future. The June patch focuses precisely on this aspect.
We’re improving nighttime gameplay to make it even scarier. We hope to create an immersive experience that will make our players shit with fear.” outlined the plan of the Smektal team. In order to build excitement during night excursions, the developers will use all sorts of tricks in terms of game mechanics, visual tricks and spooky soundtrack.
The June patch will not end support for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The publication of the second property extension is expected at the end of 2023. They promise an adventure in an unknown place, familiar characters and answers to some questions.
Although the game will be supported for a few more years Techland is already probing ground for Dying Light 3.
