Sony will continue to release PlayStation exclusives on PC with a two to three year delay because gamers don’t mind
Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, in an interview with a Japanese magazine spoke about the platform owner’s current strategy in terms of exclusive offers. Sony is keenly aware of the importance of PS5 exclusives the company ended fiscal 2023 with a record quarter in terms of console sales and hopes to keep that momentum going. Ryan named Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, due out next fall, as one of the most important upcoming exclusives. The game was created only for PS5, so Insomniac Games didn’t compromise and squeezed everything possible out of the console.
To boost PS5 sales, Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to increase the number of exclusive console products. Including due to the projects of third party studios including Rise of the Ronin, Final Fantasy XVI and DS 2.
PlayStation Studios is committed to ensuring people can enjoy their games on the latest PS console. We’re increasing PS5 exclusives and delaying PC releases.”Ryan explained. The manager added that he communicates frequently with players and is interested in their opinion on these delays: They say they agree to release a PC version two or three years after the PS release.
