Report: 13% of American adults will use crypto by the end of the year
People are losing confidence in traditional money and turning to crypto. As Satoshi thought they would.
In 2022, 33.7 million American adults will own cryptocurrencies, according to a research firm Insider Intelligence. In other words, almost 13% of all people aged 18 and over will hold crypto.
For reference, in 2021, there were only 28.3 million crypto users in the US. This means the number of people who own cryptocurrencies will increase by 5.4 million.
Moreover, Insider Intelligence predicts that the number of American adults who pay with crypto will increase to 3.6 million.
“It’s getting easier for customers to buy and use crypto at checkout, and mainstream adoption shows little sign of flagging anytime soon. Firms that embrace crypto as a viable payment method can attract new customers before the space fully matures,” the researchers added.
The global crypto transaction volume, according to the researchers, will amount to $10.4 by the end of the year. This is a 70% increase year-on-year.
Crypto continues to gain steam. More and more businesses accept it, while others pave the way for crypto payments everywhere. I bet in 5 years the number of adults in the world who use crypto will increase to 50%.
